How about some love for Pam Borton's team?
For the first time EVER, the Gophers women's basketball team won at Ohio State. And it's not a lowly Buckeyes team, it was an Ohio State team that was undefeated in conference play and the only ranked (#13) team in the Big Ten. Katie Ohm led the Gophers with 15 points.
The win puts Borton's Gophers in the thick of what looks like a five team Big Ten conference race. Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue have 5-1 marks and the Gophers join Michigan State at 4-2. Anyone follow Borton's team regularly?
- A relatively new blog, The Fourth Strike, takes a look at what Tubby Smith's 2009-10 Gophers will look like. The only thing I think I disagree with is the potential playing time for Rodney Williams Jr. The Fourth Strike thinks he will be fighting for minutes. I think he'll be the most athletic member of the team and will back-up Lawrence Westbrook. But that's total speculation, I've hardly seen Williams play.
- Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press asks if Tubby Smith is here for the long haul.
- The Northwestern Wildcats looked poised all night to upset Purdue. Then, the Wildcats crumbled. Shocking. Lake the Posts has more.
- Sorry not much more. Spent a lot of time sweating out that Gophers win last night. What an amazing comeback. The review is coming shortly.

no I think he meant Carter
the link left Carter and Williams off the two deep list. It had White as backing up Mbakwe.
what you say here can, and will, be used against you

Women
Watched moments of the first and second half last night – what this team will struggle with is having that shooter (a la Shannon Bolden and Schoenrock) that hits big shots. Ohm was on early, but wasn’t even on the floor down the stretch.
Ashley Ellis-Milan and Zoe Harper are alright inside, Emily Fox is as cold as Hoffarber right now and Kiara Buford is a solid freshman. What else though? This team could lose a game to Concordia-St. Paul if they played next.
Still, a great win for the gals and Borton and her staff. I just don’t see this team making much of a run this season. They are a couple players away.
