Lucia has Undisclosed Health Issue

No Clue What it is...U of M Athletic Director Joel Maturi is going to be Adressing the Media tonight during one of the intermission breaks during tonights Gophers game vs Brown College in the Dodge Holliday College. Don will Not Be Coaching Tonight's game and is iffy on coaching tomorrow night's game vs the Winner/loser of the Northeastern. I Hope to god this isnt serious. Assistant Coach John Hill(Mike Guentzel's Replacement) will be coaching tonight and probably tomorrow's games...Hopefully The Don will be able to get back to 100% for the Big North Dakota Series up @ Ralph Englestad Next weekend.

Well the Good News: Gophers Beat Brown College 6-2

The Bad News: Maturi Didnt say Jack Didly Squad….other than that the illness is unknown

It's been interesting

That they haven’t disclosed his health issue. But at the end of the day, it’s Lucia’s decision to keep some things private should he choose to. And I think we should respect that.

FYI: Mike Hastings was Mike Guentzel’s replacement. Hill has been with the staff for two-plus years now after coaching at Alaksa-Anchorage.

Lucia asked his players to refrain from talking about his health situation. Maturi did say that he was feeling poorly, but did not think anything of it, until this past Monday. Chatter on GPL have it as bells palsy.

Dark Star is also reporting this. All rumors obviously. This could be a symptom of something else as well (lyme diease…something like that).

Yikes

I Hope the its Not Bells Palsy…i’ve seen what that does to people.

Hopefully it isn't too bad

I’ve known a few people who have had it, and it was a temporary condition. There are probably varying degrees of it, but they were also younger. Hopefully it isn’t a sign of anything more serious. Again…just going off the speculation of this board, I have no knowledge whether or not this speculation is true.

Get well soon, Don!

Lucia talks

The Don talked with the media today – he said rumors of bells palsy and brain cancer are not true. He has not been diagnosed with anything yet. He said he has one more test scheduled for Friday that will check out three final things.

That means he will miss next weekend’s series at North Dakota. John Hill will remain as interim head coach while Lucia awaits word on what is wrong with him.
