Poor Bo -- Badgers lose fourth straight!
After starting conference play 3-0, the Wisconsin Badgers have now lost four straight conference games for the first time since 1998!
The Badgers have lost at Purdue, against Minnesota in overtime, at Iowa in overtime and Saturday afternoon at Illinois.
So, is Bo Ryan's smoke and mirrors act at Wisconsin coming to an end? Is the Big Ten becoming too athletic for this type-cast Badgers team? Or is this just a bad stretch or a down year for Bo Ryan and company?

They've had a rough schedule
Iowa and Illinois are very tough teams at home, and Purdue is one of the better teams in the Big Ten. The game against us was their most winnable if only because it was at home, but those other three games are rough places to play.
Kill, maim, pillage, burn! Kill, maim, pillage, burn! Eat babies! Badger babies!
As a Gopher fan
any Wisconsin loss puts a smile on my face, but I think “Ryan’s smoke and mirrors act” is a mischaracterization – he’s an excellent, excellent basketball coach whose teams are regularly far better on the court than they should be on paper. I wish he’d been our coach for the last 10 years.
It probably is a mischaracterization.
But I can’t stand Wisconsin and don’t have many warm fuzzies about Bo Ryan. So, I’d ask for a little latitude?

Big 10 is better
This is by far the deepest the conference has been since I can remember. I think the other teams are just more athletic than the Badgers. They still should have beaten Iowa, but the Hawkeyes are tough at home.
I think the Badgers need to change their strategy. They aren’t going to be able to win ugly anymore. Also, I really do feel like Minnesota’s resurgence will hurt Wisconsin recruiting. I think Minnesota, Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, and even Michigan should be able to out-recruit Wisconsin for the foreseeable future.
nice points
Speaking of recruiting, I thought Milwaukee was something of a talent hotbed? Though I guess there they’re competing against Marquette.

For as much as I would like
to stomp on Becky’s grave here, I really think it’s more of a down year in Madison. They are due.
Ryan still does more with less. Thankfully right now he’s got a lot less.
Unathletic
Wisconsin looks very unathletic this year and they don’t have a lot of great 3-point shooters either. Bo is doing a good job with very little talent. It should not be close when they come to the barn as Tubby will use the more athletic players that dominated the end of the game and overtime at the Kohl Center and we should beat them by ten or more. They have lost some very talented players and with the new coaches in the Big Ten wins will keep getting harder to come by for the Badgers. Badger stock is falling- SELL!!!!!!!!
Next Year
They lose their leading scorer (Landry) and rebounder (Krabby) too. They are very thin after their top 5 guys now.
Jordan Taylor seems to be UW's go to guy all of a sudden.
