no

the RB has to read where the blitz is coming from. don’t make things up.

Weber could have possibly gotten rid of the ball to save the 8 yards, but not every sack can be attributed to him.

by GopherNation on Nov 14, 2009 11:44 AM CST reply actions

seriously...what is Webers responsibility when he reads the defense?

He should be calling an audible and he should be reading who the blitzer is…calling his max protect coverage and getting the ball out quick to the open area left from the blitz…..The center calls out the blocking scheme to pick up the blitz….Bennet could have went the wrong way…but the QB just doesnt stand back there and do nothing….he should be pointing out to Bennet where the blitz is coming from. You surely dont take a 5 step drop and then fall down….thats if you know the blitz is coming..which he doesnt seem to.

I'm not defensive about Weber

just blaming every little thing on him when it isn’t warranted? I’m actually surprised the Gray fumble wasn’t his fault too?

the INT was his fault and a terrible pass. The pass before that was terrible. I am capable of seeing when he sucks. But when people turn on the TV and blame everything on him because they want Gray in, it frustrates me. It could be any player on the field. If someone starts blaming Collado because Wills misses his block I’d get annoyed about that too.

Was that failed running play Weber’s fault? Just making sure i know the rules.

by JG2112 on Nov 14, 2009 11:53 AM CST reply actions

It’s one or the other, either he can’t lead the offense, or Brewster is turtling. Neither IS WEBER’S FAULT.

by JG2112 on Nov 14, 2009 11:55 AM CST up reply actions

Woho

Gophers D has let up 19 yards of offense and we are losing. Oh Weber threw a pick 6 no way i cant believe that he is just too good to do something like that. I bet the other 119 D1 schools would start him. Well actually no i dont think he would even start at SDSU.

by Jeffdu on Nov 14, 2009 11:54 AM CST reply actions

Nice play on D again...bailing out the offensive minds on this team

Carter might get cuffed at halftime for being an accomplice in that TD theft lol

by DallasGopher on Nov 14, 2009 12:01 PM CST reply actions

Gray running a rotation of 5 plays would be an improvement vs an offense that loses yardage and gives up points. Weber has lost all confidence at this point and needs a break.

Buck Bravo

The fact that Gray has not been given a relevant SERIES of snaps this year is a significant indictment of the coaches this year. It’s completely absurd.

but does anyone else agree with me that this is the worst the OL has played in several weeks? Weber had a brutal 2nd quarter (he was 4/5 in the 1st), but the OL isn’t opening any rushing holes and has yet to pick up a blitz. They were playing better the last few weeks but today is YUCK.

Gophers Coaches taking exception to the fans voicing their opinions..

according to somebody @ the game chanting with them….WORRY ABOUT YOUR OWN TEAM!

No matter the outcome, I'm guessing after the game ....

… Brewster talks about hos resilient his team was today. They played hard, he’ll say, as if that shouldn’t be expected.

And How

If the other 10 guys had played better around him… Adam Weber would have been great!

by JG2112 on Nov 14, 2009 1:47 PM CST up reply actions

The BTN guy said that the Gophers underestimated SDSU, but now have calmed down.

There are five minutes left in the game. Unbelievable.

Put on Gray and RUN RUN RUN!

BTW, funny reality – Brewster did not actually say time out, he only made the motion for a time out. the ref should not have stopped the clock.

by JG2112 on Nov 14, 2009 1:54 PM CST reply actions

that is awesome. another to.

the fans sure sound happy.

by JG2112 on Nov 14, 2009 1:55 PM CST reply actions

The Press Folks

Better not let him off with talking about how good SDSU is… “Well they’re a tremendous football team that is very well coached and works hard, they’re ranked in FCs… but i’m really proud of how our kids battled.. blah blah blahhhh”
55-0 may look merciful if they play like this against the hogeyes.

NO STANZI................NO PROBLEM

SERIOUSLY, THE GOPHERS HAVE NO CHANCE AGAINST A TEAM LIKE CENTRAL MICHIGAN AT THE PIZZA PIZZA BOWL

Dungy? Why?

What apptitude has Dungy ever shown to be a good D1 college football coach? Its an entirely different game than the pros. The recruiting side makes each coach almost a GM. I personally don’t think he’s cut out for that. You just want him for his name, a common mistake, but a mistake nonetheless.

An absolute disaster of a game.

Keeping Brew around for another season is just delaying the inevitable.

by Anthony21 on Nov 14, 2009 3:37 PM CST reply actions

We can’t can Brew yet. We need his superb recruiting skills to land Seantrel Henderson, the best prospect MN has ever seen.
