Looking at the two teams on the field, illinois is bigger, stronger, and faster.

Everyone was like look how good Weber is last week

LMAO dude sucks if he plays next year i wont watch. He has 1 good game a year and 11 bad ones. Sam ole crap.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 11:41 AM CST reply actions

i cant watch this. why does weber play?

He’s not leading us anywhere this year and he’s not the future.

why not run the ball more?

two first downs running the ball (and one shovel pass). Run it till they stop us.

Has everyone forgot over 400 yards from last week? Illinois has a good D-line. Their secondary is terrible. Minnesota will take advantage of it. Patience.

by JG2112 on Nov 7, 2009 11:43 AM CST reply actions

how do u figure

illinois has 11 sacks this year worst in the Big 10 yet they have a good Dline huh. Your right their secondary is terrible to bad Weber couldnt have 2 good games in a row if his life depended on it.

Start Gray next week vs SDSU

That way he has a cupcake opening start for him. No way this team beats Iowa with Weber we need a wrinkle and Gray is the guy.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 11:53 AM CST reply actions

kind of like

there was no way we’d beat Michigan State with Weber

Stop it with the Gray starting business. We are 7 days removed from a 400 yard passing day by Weber.

But Gray must not be ready. I can’t believe they’d hold him back at this point if he were ready to start.

Name me the, in effect, true freshmen quarterbacks this decade that have played great, and I’ll show you the veteran team around them – Chad Henne, Matt Barkley. Sam Bradford and McCoy as RS freshmen. That’s it.

by JG2112 on Nov 7, 2009 12:00 PM CST reply actions

Gray doesnt have to be great to be better then Weber

he needs expierence though so we have something to look forward to for the next 3 years. Are you really excited about this team next year with Weber as the starting QB? I dont care for 6-6 records and losing to Iowa Wisky Penn St Michigan and OSU every time we play them.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 12:02 PM CST up reply actions

Ohio St

Well Purdue and Navy moved the ball well on them and they couldnt stop Navy when they had to i hope we are better then Purdue and Navy. Penn St really has played no one worth mentioning to date besides Iowa and lost and home. Illinois racked up 400 yards of offense on them though.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 12:00 PM CST reply actions

I meant OSU

couldnt stop USC when they had to

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 12:00 PM CST reply actions

Absolutely, but still our best option.

USC is a rather good team.

But, Jeffdu, well made points in your prior email. Interesting, I think Minnesota played the triple option much better than tOUS did this year against Navy.

Sweet we scored

I just want Minnesota to win. Weber infuriates me with his inconsistency.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 12:07 PM CST reply actions

and minnesota does

how do we not ever upset anybody or end up in the top 25 but every other team outside of indiana in the big 10 seems to do these things. We usually have more talent then we show.

by Jeffdu on Nov 7, 2009 12:08 PM CST up reply actions

We upset Sparty last week, didn’t we?

by JG2112 on Nov 7, 2009 12:10 PM CST up reply actions

i dont call that an upset

come on sparty is 4-5 and gophs were at home. I mean a top team. If they beat Iowa then ill call that an upset. We need a top win on a nationally televised game. The gophs needed to play better vs PSU and OSU at least make the outcome in doubt.

On the replay, notice 8 players in to block and only 2 guys in routes, they doubled the WRs and Weber had nowhere to go, that’s the O-line’s issue, not Weber’s.

Is there anything to take out of that? Should Minny have more victories?

by JG2112 on Nov 7, 2009 12:40 PM CST up reply actions

Is Brewster throwing the game? This is Illinois, remember? Perhaps he has to give this one back so Illinois can win out and go bowling, and Brew is counting on SDSU and Iowa.

BTW, the Iowa game is up for grabs if Stanzi is out. Sounds like a MCL issue.

by JG2112 on Nov 7, 2009 12:39 PM CST reply actions

No way Brewster throws a game

even to his alma mater. Makes no sense his job is not that secure to do that. We saw what happened to Mason after 1 inexcuseable game and that was after he signed an extension.

i agree run the ball

Hoese there was a TD for the taking or a Gray qb sneak you know what ever anything besides the play called would have been fine. This isnt the NFL Fisch its a lot easier to gain 1 yd on the ground just watch the Gophers D when your offense is sitting and youll see that.

serious question, I’m not being snarky…

Is Rich Rod in danger if he goes 1-7 in Big Ten this year? I know the “lack of talent” arguments but Michigan is not a patient place. Is he on the hot seat?

by GopherNation on Nov 7, 2009 1:53 PM CST reply actions

Possibly, but I don’t think so. Making two coaching changes in 23 months is just stupid. Plus, the defensive secondary is just a joke personnel wise, which is largely due to Lloyd’s terrible defensive recruiting from 2005-07. There are a million things contributing to the bad D.

Let’s not forget – Michigan has the best scoring offense in the conference.

The expectations, however, will be for 9 wins in 2010, or he’ll be in trouble.
