Big News for the Gophers Game Wednesday.

Very Good news for the Gophers per Myron Medcalf @ the Star Trib.

Michigan State forward Raymar Morgan will probably miss Wednesday’s home matchup against the Gophers, according to Spartans head coach Tom Izzo. Morgan played three minutes against Penn State Sunday and has been diagnosed with walking pneumonia.

Izzo said he’s “baffled” by the junior forward’s lack of strength. Morgan has averaged 12.3 points per game this season. Without Morgan, Michigan State is obviously a different team. But, a win is a win. And the Gophers will have a much greater chance of leaving East Lansing, Mich., with a victory Wednesday if Morgan doesn’t play.

Hmm...

While I’d certainly like to see how we fare against their full squad it’s probably more important that we keep winning in order to secure our NCAA position – so I’ll take it :)

And that's not all...

…former Minnesota prep star Isiah Dahlman was expected to play more due to Morgan’s absence, but he sprained his ankle during pregame warm-ups Sunday and will probably not play much if at all.

speaking of Dahlman...

forgive me if I’ve missed it, but has there been any talk on this site about him? I remember when he was in HS, he could basically have gone anywhere he wanted; 3 years later, he’s a jr who’s played something like 20 minutes all season. You’ve got to think he’s regretting his choice to go to Mich St?

With Purdue losing tonight...

If the Gophers win Wednesday, they will have sole possession of first place!

Oh, and by the way...

Kentucky lost again tonight. That’s three losses in a row with Florida coming up! Just thought you might like to know that.
