Make a change?

I hate to even bring it up, but the way the Gophers men's hockey team has been playing, should the U consider firing Lucia? I mean the Gophers got thumped by North Dakota and swept at home by Scony. Sure he had health problems this year. But with the talent this team has year after year, this team should not be giving up 6 goals a game.

It's just getting frustrating with hockey and men's basketball fading just like the football team.

Get real.

College hockey is difficult if you’re a premier team, since your players will likely leave after a year or two to play in the NHL. That problem is currently affecting the Gophers.

Lucia has won two national titles at Minnesota. He deserves all the time he wants. He’s a good coach.

Exactly

Kessel and Wheeler would still be seniors, Okposo and Eric Johnson would be juniors. He has had a lot of people leave which gives us a young team and the biggest reason for the lack of success has been the inconsistent play of Kangas. If you watched both games you would see that we outplayed UW both nights but the Badgers scored on any chance they got.

C'mon

I’m not even a hockey fan, but firing Lucia would be the worst possible decision the athletic administration could make.

Who would you bring in? Enough said.

And....

….with what money would the U of Mn pay off Lucia’s contract?

No

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
