Final Hoops Blog Poll (regular season)
Final ballot justification...
Some movement at the top and throw a dart at teams to be at the bottom because I just couldn't justify Memphis being the #1 team. Louisville jumped Pitt even after Pitt beat UCONN because they were the final Big East champs.

Curious
How did Purdue move up this week after losing twice? (Granted, the only team they passed – LSU – did the same thing against much worse teams. But still, you’d think someone would be able to jump them.)
who would jump them
that was my problem. UCLA is probably worth moving ahead, but not Xavier or Butler imo.

the problem with the rankings...
Uconn should not move down for losing a tough game at Ptt. And, Louisville should not ever be ranked ahead of Uconn, especially since they were dismantled at home by Uconn. That is the problem with rankings…Uconn loses at Pitt and Louisville wins against WVU and Louisville passes them….that is insane.
The number one seeds should be Pitt, UNC, Uconn and Memphis. If Louisville gets a # 1 over Memphis I might just break my hand by punching a wall. And, Oklahoma should not get a number one seed considering Austin Johnson and Tony Crocker have literally gone missing on the court!
Also, Arizona State should not be dropped from the rankings. Of all the Pac 10 teams they are the best suited for an elite-eight run. They have the most gifted player in the country—yes, even more GIFTED than Blake Griffin—in James Harden.

But, finally some love for St. Mary's
Watch out…Patty Mills is on the run again. St. Mary’s was better than Gonzaga two months ago and they will soon be better than them again. Gonzaga will most likely win tonight, but give Patty one week to get his ankle strong and St. Mary’s will be fun to watch in the tourney. It is about time some people began to notice that a healthy Patty makes St. Mary’s arguably the best and most especially the toughest team in the WCC.

I can't vote ASU because they are primed for an E8 run
they’ve lost 3 of their last 4 including Wash St and Stanford.

I didn't say that...
I just said tha out of all the pac 10 teams I believe they are the most ready for an elite-eight run. UCLA is not very athletic and has a tough time scoring and Washington plays a loosey goosey style. When you have the best player on the court, in this case harden, your odds of winning a neutral court game increase dramatically.
Besides, if you have worries about ASU then you should be wetting your pants if you like Oklahoma….one months ago I was willing to say that they were clearly the best team in the country, but right now I am not even willing to watch them. They do not box-out anymore and they are starting to watch Blake, much like Kentucky has begun to watch Jodie. They have confidence issues…that is the biggest problem a team can have.

Memphis
No way are they the #2 team in the contry, IMO. Who have they beaten? Gonzaga and …. Rice? SE Valley West Missouri State Tech?

Tennessee is a good win
but they have gotten it done regardless of who they have played.

regarding memphis...
I don’t think they are the second best team in the country, but I do think they are in the top five. I understand that they are young, but if you watch them play you will see that they are the second most athletic team in the country (behind UNC). I am usually not a fan of Memphis, but they are legit to watch this year.

Don't think they are that good.
I predict Memphis is out by the Sweet 16.
