According to ESPN's Midwest recruiting blogger, Bill Kurelic, Seantrel's father has released the nation's #1 recruit's five official visits. Expect message boards to blow up all over the country.
The Final Five are...
Ohio State - Sept. 12th vs. USC
Notre Dame - Oct. 17th vs. USC
USC - Nov. 28th vs. UCLA (tentative)
Oklahoma - not date set, wants to attend OU/Tex game which is on Oct. 17 (same as Notre Dame visit)
Florida - no date set
This does not eliminate Minnesota and probably not Michigan as well. Henderson will likely take an unofficial visit to any Gopher home game when he is in town.
"We live here," Sean Henderson said. "He's been to Minnesota a thousand times. And he's made unofficial visits to Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan State. Everybody is still a possibility. But the schools he is taking official visits to are all pretty high on his list."
I'm most shocked (and yet completely not shocked) to see Notre Dame in the final five. Rumors had been buzzing that they were not in his top10, but even with those rumors I was convinced you couldn't eliminate the Irish until Seantrel signed the dotted line in February.
Assuming his visits remain as scheduled that would leave only a few potential visits to Florida and Oklahoma (exel schedule matrix below the map)...
- Florida - Sep 19th vs. Tenn, Oct 31 vs. Georgia, Nov 7 vs. Vandy
- Oklahoma - Oct 17 vs. Tex (he'd have to skip ND/USC), Oct 10 vs. Bay, Oct 31 vs. K State, Nov 14 vs. A&M
- Minnesota Unofficials he should be in town for...Sep 19th vs. Cal (maybe), Oct 3 vs. Wisconsin (very likely), Oct 10 vs. Purdue (likely), Nov 7 vs. Illinois (likely).
Things are getting narrowed down and the Seantrel Sweepstakes should get interesting over the next few months. The map has been updated with dates and I have removed a few schools (Clemson, Boston College and UNC), they could still be in the mix but until something heats up with them I'm keeping them off the map.
