It's Official: Greg Paulus Named Starting QB for Syracuse

http://community.foxsports.com/goodmanonfox/blog/2009/08/17/paulus_wins_starting_qb_job

I'm not sure whether or not to be scared or confident with this decision but am still leaning towards the latter.  What do you guys think of Marrone's decision? Does it help or hurt us?  I know that Paulus has absolutely no experience as a college gameday QB, but to me it's things like this that can sometimes seem crazy enough to work...

My concern is that.....

…..the Gophers now have nothing to game plan against, unless they watch Paulus’ high school tape. For at least the first quarter, the Gophers will be trying to figure out Paulus. It’s up to Cosgrove and Lee to make quick assessments and adjust to what Paulus is doing out there, or else this will be an embarrassment.

That's pretty much what I was thinking

New coach, new QB… tougher to prepare for because you don’t really know what you’re going to get.

This sort of reminds me of our situation in ‘07, but because Paulus has been in a basketball mindset for so long I am in no way saying he’ll be as good as Weber was that year.

Some of the similarities make me wonder if their results this year will be similar to ours in ’07..
