- A blog at this link predicts a 2-10 season for Minnesota.
- Buckeyes Gameday predicts that Eric Decker and Traye Simmons will be on the All Big Ten Conference Team.
- The Daily Iowan previews the Gophers' difficult schedule and growing pains as Tim Brewster rebuilds the program:
Former University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie was arrested early Thursday in Anderson County. Lawrenceburg Police said Gillispie was pulled over in a white 2009 Mercedes with Texas tags around 2:45 a.m. on US 127 after someone reported seeing the car driving erratically. Gillispie was arrested and charged with DUI.
The Gophers can only hope to get off to a start comparable to last year. After beginning the season 7-1, Brewster's squad went 0-5 down the stretch, including Iowa's 55-0 undressing of Minnesota to close out the Metrodome for good.

Bye Week
I may be missing something here. Isn’t the Big 10 bye week November 14? The Gophers scheduled the SDSU Jackalopes for that date so the lack of bye is the Gopher’s fault, not the Big Ten’s.
there is no Big Ten Bye Week
Michigan plays Wisconsin that weekend and I’m sure there are other Big Ten games though I haven’t looked.
I know
I didn’t mean a league-wide Big 10 Bye week. I meant that the Gophers had a bye from Big 10 action on November 14th. They chose to fill in that week with SDSU. My main point is that the gophers scheduled a cream puff on their bye week and now are complaining they don’t have a bye week. I haven’t looked at other B10 schedules, did other schools schedule a DII school during their byes? Do they have two byes, one for rest, one for a cream puff, or are they just taking that week off?
