Marcus Fuller over at the PP did a nice piece hitting a couple of the key things on Gopher fan's minds.  What is the future of Tim Brewster?  What kind of improvement do we need to see?  Can the fan base handle another year of high hopes followed by utter disappointment?

"Sometimes improvements aren't always measured by wins and losses," he said. "I expect us to be a better football team. I think you'll see that on the field. I love the coaches. I love the energy of the kids. I love what they've done in the offseason."

I hope we see improvement on the field AND in the win column.

Brewster is Learning to Temper Expectations

Expectations put a lot of coaches out of jobs, so it is good that he is learning that one. The fact is that the schedule is much tougher OOC and the Big Ten schedule is more difficult this year too. Seven wins this year would be an improvement, most of the experts are predicting 5-7 wins.

More than anything, it’s going to come down to how much Tim Davis can do with the line and open up a running attack. We aren’t going to benefit from turnovers as much this year in all likelihood, so the performance of our O-Line will dictate the success of this team. If they can’t keep out defense from wearing out again, it is going to be a long year. I have never been more excited for the Gopher season to start, let’s play.

This YEAR

Without a doubt is the most excited Ive been for the start of the season. The Stadium, the talent upgrade and maturation of those players but also Brewsters 3rd year and now he will have his players at every position on the field. To say he hasnt out recruited Mason is crazy ,look at the last 2 classes compared to the 4 classes before. The real question is can he really coach, this year I think we will find out how much he has improved in that area and its hard to tell yet. Also, I think that Huff is visiting for the Cal game but not sure GN.
