Official Visits/Recruiting
Ok...I have read that MN had quite a few recruits at the home opener. Does anyone have any info or word on what those recruits are saying or if we have had an verbals out of it. It seems like if we can't get 1 or 2 guys to verbal after an event like that then there may be some issues with our staff or with MN as a program itself. On the other hand it could be a smashing success. Just looking for info.

I’ve read that we had Zachary Allen in town, who is from Pahokee. He enjoyed the visit, but also mentioned he is going to take an official to Wake Forest and then maybe end his recruitment. He has a teammate going to Wake (and one to Minnesota), but that would indicate to me he has Wake first, then Minnesota second.
Jabari Price ranked us as number one after his visit. He is visiting Purdue this weekend, then is also going to North Carolina and a couple other schools. He is ranked near #105 for CBs in this class and I think he goes to Michael Carter’s former school.
We also had Oregon and Utah recruits in town, but haven’t heard more from them.
Once the kids get into the official visit portion of recruiting, and those kids are planning on taking their officials, it’s really rare to get those commitments, I think. Plus, some kids may be silent commits, and some kids may want to commit after the visit, but the staff may be telling them, for example, “I’ll have a spot for you if Jabari Price goes elsewhere.”
So, basically, don’t worry. Brewster has a solid if unspectacular class thus far, and the class will fill out, with a surprise or two on Signing Day, over the next couple of months.

Rivals is showing we landed that DT from Texas:
DT Josh Tauaefa Corinth, Texas
Lake Dallas 6’2" 265 4.9 N/A N/A Minnesota
Losing Small and Brown this year, this is definitely a need position. I love the play of Kirksey and Eddwards is solid, but we rotate them and need a couple more players there.
