"I really feel strongly it's in Seantrel's best interest to go to the University of Minnesota. The advantage to him post football would be here. He'll start at LT for coach Brewster, I know they're doing a great job recruiting him. And he would be the marquee player that others would follow. He'd be in great hands with coach Brewster, he'd also have his network of people to support him here in town. And you know, he's a great player, he's just a special kid. He's a quiet humble kid that has been blessed with size and ability. We're certainly hoping he ends up at the University of Minnesota."

KFAN-Power Trip Morning Show 1/20 8AM hour
Former Redskin, Ray Hitchcock was on the Power Trip Morning Show today. He was on primarily to talk about winning a Super Bowl and to talk about the Vikings. But Hitchcock is also an assistant coach at Cretin and was asked about Seantrel Henderson. Henderson comments are about 46 min into the audio.

IF, and that is a big IF

SH commits to the U, the significance cannot be overstated. The quinella for us would be SH commits and a reputable OC is hired. That would be just what this program needs at this point in time. Without it, I have major concerns for next year.

I was kind of surprised by the comments as I was listeing this morning

I fully expected Hitchcock to say something like, “SH is a great athlete and person who has a number of great programs to choose from. I’m sure it will be a difficult decision but I’m also confident he’ll make best decision for he and his family.”

Sounds like there is at least one coach over at CDH who has some love for the Gophers.

what you say here can, and will, be used against you

Does “some love” = has been offered a job with the Gophers provided that Seantrel commits to Minnesota in early February, and really wants to be a college corch?

If that’s all it takes, then hell yes! Ray can be offensive coordinator if it means getting Seantrel. Landing SH would be a monstrous boost for Brewster and this program, and if has to hire the entire CDH staff to get him here, make it happen!
