St. Joe's Preview

Let me preface this by saying I am student at St. Joseph's University.

We are an extremely young team. The roster contains 10 players who are sophomores or freshman. We rotate around 11 players in but recently the rotation has been tightening up to 9. We are led by Carl Jones, sophomore, a scoring point guard in the mode of AI averaging ab out 18 points a game.

Idris Hilliard, Senior, an undersized power forward who averages about 10 points a game and 5 rebounds. Our second leading scorer is freshman guard Langston Galloway from Louisiana averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds a game.

Our starting center is C.J. Aiken, also a freshman. He is 6'9' but maybe 190 soaking wet. He is extremely weak on the boards due to his height advantage in High School and the his weight makes him easy to push out of the way on the glass. However, he is a shot blocking machine he averages 3.5 a game including 7 blocks against Villanova on Friday night.

Starting Small Forward is Daryus Quarles. He can hit from deep three but his defense and mid range shots need some work.

Coming off the bench is at guard spots are Justin Crosgile (Sophomore) and Patrick Swilling Jr (Freshman son of Patrick Swilling Sr. former NFL All Pro). The last guard to come of the bench is Charoy Bently (Senior).

The forward/center spot coming of the bench is in a current state of change. At the start of the season it was Todd O'Brien a 7' junior but now more time is going to Ronald Roberts (Freshman) and Carl Baptiste (Sophomore).

We are weak on the boards but with Roberts and Baptiste getting more time we have been doing better later.

It will be interesting to see if we can put together two complete halves and how we will do on the boards against a bigger stronger veteran team.
