That didn't last long. Anyone have any thoughts about the Todd Lickliter era other than it was nice whipping up on the Hawkeyes? Meanwhile, Steve Alford has his team in the Dance with a 3 seed. Ouch.

No More LOLliter????

NOOOOOOOOOO!

I had the “pleasure” of watching the Gopher’s BBall last vs Iowa at the Barn. It was a comedy of errors. Without the comedy. In fact it was downright painful whenever Iowa had the ball.

In all seriousness, it had be done. Good luck to Iowa in their coaching search.

If i was Iowa

I would go after UNI coach Jacobson. He was done well at UNI and obviously has the Iowa ties.

As a UNI grad and a huge Minny fan...

Jacobson isn’t going anywhere. He’s very happy at UNI and I have no problems with the work that Lickliter did. In fact, I thought he was stellar. Too bad Iowa got rid of him. I loved watching Minnesota play the Hawks under his tenure. :)

Hard to believe

the Iowa program has sunk to below Monson-era levels. It makes me feel fortunate that the Gophers got Tubby when they did. Iowa’s recovery without outstanding leadership is most likely going to be a slower process than the Gophers was. This could be very entertaining,in a “can’t stop looking at the accident” sort of way. Who knows? They could get lucky-but I doubt it.

I'm a firm believer you deserve more than three years

but I can’t fault Iowa for this one. They have steadily gotten worse. Talent level is worse, players are having problem staying eligible and results are worse. He’ll land on his feet and be successful at another mid-major program. I wonder what Iowa is going to do?

I saw somewhere that the Bruce Pearl rumors have started.

Somehow I don’t think he’ll leave Tennessee though.

yeah right

like a highly successful SEC coach would leave the talent rich south to come to a midwestern school that hasn’t been nationally relevant in years.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J.
