Quick Nugz- 04.14.10
Two significant items jump out this morning.
1 - Kim Royston broke his leg! What was once a position of strength on the depleted Gopher defense is now in trouble with Royston "hoping" to be back in time for camp in August and Kyle Theret having his legal issues and indefinite suspension.
2 - Today begins the spring signing period for basketball. The Gophers are desperately hoping Cory Joseph faxes his letter of intent to the Bierman Building. Joseph would be an outstanding addition to this team. If he signs and Trevor Mbakwe is allowed to return this 2010-11 team could be very special. We'll all be holding out hope Royce White will also return but I fear this will turn into a Walker-Lee Ashley situation.

NBA draft commits
How ‘bout a post on all the Big Ten players declaring their eligibility for the NBA Draft? Turner, Harris, McCamey… now Johnson and Moore. That’s an awful lot of star power. I realize some of these guys could end up withdrawing their names in the next few weeks, but that is usually the exception, not the rule. It’s looking more and more like Michigan State will be the obvious class of the conference next season and that Minnesota will have a realistic shot at contending.
And Kentucky will lose 4 starters
I don’t see Kentucky as setting up a great recruiting class either. This will be interesting for the Kentucky fans.
