Happy belated birthday to The Daily Gopher
Imagine you are a father and you completely forget and ignore your child's birthday. Well that's what I did yesterday. Only it wasn't my child it was something requires more time and attention, and is less rewarding. It was the blog.
Happy second birthday to The Daily Gopher.Started by the immortal PJS and myself just two years ago we have grown to add Buck & JG and we have a great community of Gopher fans. Speaking for myself it is the amount of comments and the dialogue that makes this labor of love worth every minute.
Thanks to all of you for coming along for the ride.
Some fun blog stats. In 2 years we have come to have over 800 members, 23,400 comments and recently we crossed the 500,000 unique visitor count. Those are modest numbers but far beyond where I thought we'd be in this short time.

Congrats
I can do you one better. When I was in college I forgot my own birthday once. I think my parents called me that afternoon and wished me a happy birthday, but until then I didn’t even realize it.
Anyway, I’ve enjoyed the material the past couple of years and look forward to continued prosperity, so congratulations.
Congrats!
I enjoy reading this much more than any newspaper columnist or radio show… I think it is a blend of homer-ism and legitimate criticism without taking cheap shots (for the most part). For example GopherNation has his Maroon-colored glasses on much of the time and I like that glass-half-full optimism. JG provides a show-me (sorry Missouri) attitude, and backs it up with great points and data without resorting to Barreiro cheap-shots. Buck may be somewhere in the middle. Add that to a great place for links to legitimate news articles about the Gophers and other related schools/issues, and it is a great daily read!
Thank you so much for your time and effort
It is very much appreciated, and a daily visit for me.
My #1 visited website
Well done stories with a community that is educated enough to get into intellectual debates—until the Iowa fans get here with all their inferiority complexes…
Thanks For The Enjoyable Forum
The stories, postings and articles here tend to be very informative. Great stats and polling as well. Just a nice overall work product for GN to enjoy. CONGRATS!
Congrats and Thanks
Even though I disagree with almost all your opinions, you guys are a godsend. Truly enjoy this blog.
Happy Birthday, folks.
Just imagine the numbers you’d have if we won a few big games this year.
Everyone fails. The successful learn from their failures. I just wish we'd quit giving ourselves so many learning opportunities.

Happy Birthday
I too enjoy this site and check it every time I log on since the PJS days. Thanks for keeping me informed and up to date about my neighbors to the west. I can’t in good conscience say that I hope you have more to cheer about in the next couple of years but I’m sure you wouldn’t want it any other way,
On a side note, i was watching the Big Ten network today and they had a replay of a matchup between Wisky and UM basketball from 1990 and who should make a bucket late in the game to help complete a 21 point comeback? JIM SHIKENJANSKI. It made me smile.
Thank you for the good work.
