Sing along with Sid
It's time to declare Saturday, October 2nd, 2010, an official day - if not the entire season - one of mourning for the University of Minnesota football program. The once proud, (most recently 1967), effort has been in a condition of stagnation featuring tepidly-victorious but mostly-losing seasons for about forty years. No one seems to have a solution, other than Sid, and he says "Changing coaches is not the answer" OK then, let's give our day (or years) of mourning a theme and a mournful song. The title can be, appropriately, "Wait'll Next Year". Here's the first pleading line of lyrics:
"Wait'll Next Year my friend, wait'll next year, you'll see, fans having great fun, shouting WE'RE NUMBER ONE! Wait'll Next Year ol' bud, we know it's been tough, but we know something else, we've got the right stuff! So be patient my pal, stop crying the blues. We've been down for ten years, but we're hearing good news! The world's ever changing,we'll get a new chance! We'll double our efforts and we'll laugh aqt the dance!
