Tony Dungy was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show today and was asked about the Charlie Walters column in today's PP about the possibility of Dungy coaching the Gophers
if when current head coach Tim Brewster is fired.
"I have not and you can tell whoever wrote that story that they need to focus on Marc Trestman," Dungy said. "I am loving my time at Football Night in America and I'm spending time in Tampa with my family. So I have too much on my plate to even think about any coaching job including my alma mater."
He went on to say that unlike former coach Bill Cowher, who gets mentioned for every single NFL head coaching vacancy, that people shouldn't bother mentioning Dungy's name because he's not coming back.
I believe him. I have no idea why anyone else wouldn't. The man has a very comfortable life with a TV deal and national best selling books. Not only that, the man is a Gopher legend. Why on earth would he want to take the huge risk to try and turn the Gopher program around?
It's. Not. Happening.
