The University of Minnesota Announces the 1st Annual Goldy's Fun Run 5K, 10K and 1K Kid's Run
Details are below but I think we need to have a TDG team representing.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. January 26, 2011 - The University of Minnesota announced today the inaugural Goldy's Run at TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus will take place on April 9, 2011. The event is sponsored by the St. Jude Medical Foundation.
Goldy's Run will include a 10 mile run, a 5K and a kid's 1K run. Fans will have an opportunity to interact with Gopher athletes, coaches and of course, Goldy. The various race courses will take the participants through campus and the surrounding streets with all events finishing inside TCF Bank Stadium.
"We are excited to bring this event to the boosters and fans of the University of Minnesota while benefitting the University of Minnesota Athletics and Amplatz Children's Hospital", said Joel Maturi, Athletic Director of the University of Minnesota. "TCF Bank Stadium is the perfect location for our fans to gather together and with the finish line being inside the Stadium, participants will get an opportunity to be on the field as they finish."
Those interested in registering for the event can do so at www.goldysrun.com. The introductory cost is $10 for the kids run, $25 for the 5K and $45 for the 10 mile. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Amplatz Children's Hospital. Participants will receive a Goldy's Run t-shirt, a finisher's medal, snacks and refreshments.
Goldy's Run is produced by Podium Sports Marketing, a premium running event company in the Twin Cities. The event is also designated as an official training partner of Grandma's Marathon.

10 mile?
Is there a 10K or 10 mile run? The post mentions both, but the linked website seems not to mention either.
I'm in.
I don’t see anything on the website about the 10k either. I’d rather run that, but if there’s nothing that shows up before early registration closes I’ll have to just run the 5k.
Everyone fails. The successful learn from their failures. I just wish we'd quit giving ourselves so many learning opportunities.

Think we can get 5-10 TDGers to run?
Sounds like we have 3 including me.
what you say here can, and will, be used against you The Daily Gopher
I think so.
We could try to make it into a TDG meet n’ greet type of thing at Sally’s after the run too.
I’d be in on either the 5k or the 10mi. We’ll see how awful the running weather is between now and then.
Yea, not loving the early April date.
But with luck it’ll be nice (or at least decent) and I can squeeze in a couple rounds of golf while I’m visiting. =)
Running my first 10K in May
So I’ll be in fierce training mode in April, plus the whole 6-hour drive thing.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.
10 Miler Baby!
My wife and I are going to do the 10 mile.
This will be much more fun than running the Crazy Legs in Madison (supports UW athletics) and finishes in Camp Randall. I do enjoy wearing my Gopher gear to the run, however!
