It was a busy weekend for Gopher sports. Football was run over by Wisconsin, hockey split and men's basketball opened the season with a win. But then you have all of the Maturi-sports who were in action as well.
Women's basketball went 1-2 to open the season at some tournament. Volleyball was swept by Michigan. Women's Cross Country finished 3rd at the NCAA Regionals behind a strong finish from Stephanie Price. The Men and the Women have earned NCAA Tournament bids.
