Some Nugz-a-licious Nugz to start your Wednesday...
Great news for Gopher hoops fans, as it looks like Blake Hoffarber's knee injury shouldn't keep him out of Thursday night's tilt with Illinois. With Al Nolen already sidelined, the Gophs need all the healthy guards they get.
Great interview with Jerry Kill by the PP's Bob Sansevere. My favorite quote:
I want my epitaph to say, "Here lies Jerry Kill, who gave everything he had out of what he was given."
The Minnesota Daily has a good feature on three former Gopher linebackers chasing their NFL dreams.
FBT has a must-read post about his 2011 combined recruiting rankings.
Gopher hockey forward Jay Barriball is day-to-day with a "lower body injury." Gotta love hockey and their injury descriptions. Barriball should be good to go this weekend as DU visits Mariucci. The Pioneers are rolling behind some key freshmen, says Roman in his Goal Gopher blog. For me, that just magnifies how much more we need out of Gopher freshmen like Nick Bjugstad, Eric Haula, and Nate Condon. Maybe not fair, but that's where the program is right now.
Gopher legends Paul Molitor and Dave Winfield were two notable alumni helping to raise funds for a new Gopher baseball stadium last Friday.
Non college-football related, as the NFL finally won their case against Vikings D-linemen Kevin and Pat Williams. Only took them more than two years. They'll be suspended for the start of the 2011 season...that is if there is a 2011 season. Now that they've taken care of a big issue like this, the NFL can give full concentration to getting that 18 game regular schedule implemented that no one wants.
