Bubble Teams to Cheer Against

There are benefits to being the fan of a perennial bubble team, as the Gophers have been most every year since Orlando T. Smith rescued our beloved program from the depths of despair and built us back into the model of mediocrity we are today. No, we don't have the luxury of using our brain cells wondering how high of a seed we'll receive from the NCAA Selection Committee on Sunday (not yet, at least), but we do get the added drama of Must-Win-Status for an extra 3-4 games this time of year. And we've also earned the opportunity (a week earlier than most fans) to watch games and root against teams we would otherwise know/care nothing about/for if it weren't for the Joe Lunardis and Jerry Palms of the world. And really, it would be a terrible waste of your time NOT to take advantage of this opportunity to, well, waste more time watching more college basketball.

With that in mind, cue the schadenfreude. Below is a Gopher fan's guide of Bubble Teams to Cheer Against in this Conference Tournament Week, sorted by conference. Lunardi's and Palm's most recent status of each team is listed in parentheses. (Note: I have not compiled a TV viewing schedule for every game in which these teams play, but you can review brackets and TV coverage of each tournament if you are feeling especially motivated after reading this post.)
