According to Michael Russo--Mike Reilly will sign with the Minnesota Wild

We got him! no not Tyus Jones. According to the almost never wrong Michael Russo of the Star Tribune, former Gopher defenseman and two time All-American Mike Reilly has decided to stay home and sign with the Minnesota Wild.

Reilly was supposedly down to deciding between the Wild, the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. According to Russo, Reilly's agent was set to inform the Wild of his decision today, but he can not officially sign until next Wednesday.

Reilly was originally drafted in the 4th round of the 2011 NHL draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, however he took advantage of a loophole in the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement to be able to withdraw from school and become an NHL free agent this spring. Reilly spent this spring playing for the US team at the World Championships in Europe, and held his own.

We will have more on this next week when it becomes official, but for right now it appears congrats are in order for Reilly on being able to sign with his hometown team!
