$10 Football and hockey, $5 basketball
We aren't the only BCS team not willing to play another BCS team.
The Axe Game should be a good battle this year. But, the Gophers hesitancy to name a starter (even though the decision might be made for them) and stick with that guy, could prove to be problematic. But, the Gophs are not alone. The Badgers have had their own problems. Unfortunately, the Badgers may have found their guy - if the play-calling expands. That could be the difference.
For hockey and football this weekend until 5pm!
Gopher baseball getting an opportunity to practice on their new surface.
Tommy Olson is out at LG, Brock Vereen is questionable, everyone else I think we all knew about.
Over at Off Tackle Empire, Mike Jones and I exchanged some, um, friendly(?) barbs about this weekend's retention of Floyd of Rosedale. You may enjoy it.
Alvin Ellis is a SG from Chicago and he has verbally agreed to play basketball for the Golden Gophers. As a junior, Ellis averaged 16 points per game and this year he wants to average 30.
I thought they would have received a few but 11 is more than I would have guessed.
From The Daily: "University of Minnesota freshman wide receiver Andre McDonald was hospitalized on campus recently and was undergoing tests Thursday afternoon, a team spokesman confirmed. McDonald told the Minnesota Daily he had a "little problem with my heart" in a phone interview Thursday at about 1:15 p.m."
