Marcus Fuller - Senior tackle Matt Stommes continued to rotate with Jeff Wills on the right side Wednesday. I wouldn't be shocked if Stommes started this weekend to try something different.
"We could have made some blocks better," AFA fullback Jared Tew said. "I haven't played in a lot of road games, but this was by far the loudest I've been involved with."
Bring your cameras with you tomorrow! I want to see pictures posted on TDG Sunday morning and I want descriptions of everyone's game day experience!
You will never again get to open up a brand new, on campus stadium to watch your Golden Gophers! This really is a unique opportunity and everyone will have a different experience, please come back and tell us about it.
University Of Minnesota head football coach Tim Brewster announced that wide receiver Brodrick Smith (Garden City, Kan.) has left the squad.
"Brodrick is planning to transfer closer to home," Brewster said. "He has a young son and would like to be closer to him. I admire Brodrick’s decision and commitment to his son. We wish him the best of luck in the future."
Smith saw action in 12 of Minnesota’s 13 games as a freshman last season. He recorded five receptions for 50 yards and one touchdown in 2008.
"Minnesota is my most despised team," sophomore offensive tackle Gabe Carimi said. "If I want to win against anyone, it is them."
You can imagine Bielema has toyed with the idea of going against tradition this season and placing the axe behind the Minnesota bench.
That way, if the Gophers win they would be denied the joy of sprinting across the field to UW's sideline to retrieve the axe. And if UW wins this meeting for the fifth consecutive time, the UW players would experience the rush of invading the Minnesota sideline.
