Well this should be fun. It's the last ever regular season series between two in-state rivals with a claim to #1- the Gophers are the #1 team in the polls while SCSU is in the top spot in the WCHA standings.
We ask the question: what are the expectations for your Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey program? Both this year, and annually? We compare the Gophers to the top 7 programs historically, including Boston College, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Good thing the Gophers are done with Mankato- or at least until the Final Five- as MSU gave Minnesota everything they could handle in a weekend split. The results still have Minnesota in great shape as they're 2nd in both the WCHA and the Pairwise.
