You can imagine Bielema has toyed with the idea of going against tradition this season and placing the axe behind the Minnesota bench.

That way, if the Gophers win they would be denied the joy of sprinting across the field to UW's sideline to retrieve the axe. And if UW wins this meeting for the fifth consecutive time, the UW players would experience the rush of invading the Minnesota sideline.

Gopher Baseball schedule announced

Schedule does not look quite as strong as last year's when they played the likes of ranked or NCAA Regional teams Ole Miss, Missouri, Cal, TCU, Pepperdine and Tulane.

But it does include TCU and Missouri agian; NCAA Regional finalist Dallas Baptist; the Big Ten / Big East Challenge where we face Seton Hall and West Virginia;and the DQ Classic which includes Hawaii, UC-Santa Barbara and Washington.

The Gophers had their worst season in decades last year, but a more experienced pitching staff, the return of some key position players (Nohelty, Decker and McCallum) and more experience for last year's deep freshman class should make for a much improved season.

Traditionally the Tim Brewster radio show has been airing on Thursday evenings live at Joe Sensors in Roseville.

The remaining shows for the season are moving to new nights due to conflicts with the Wild on WCCO. Here are the remaining dates and times.

Kendall Gregory-McGhee is your newest verbal

KGM is a three star athlete who projects at defensive end and maybe tight end. He had offers from Colorado, TCU, Boise State and a handful of other mid-major schools. Rivals ranks him as the 4th best player in the state of Colorado.

KGM is a fairly new name on the recruiting radar, he was mentioned in the first installment of Rodent Recruiting right before he came for his official visit. But he was not a hot name throughout the summer.

I would expect that his 6'4" frame has room to fill out and he'll become an athletic pass rushing force. Welcome to Gopher Nation KGM.
