New AD Norwood Teague is being pressed by both coaches for facility upgrades to their respective programs, but finance limitations means that probably only one will get the funding immediately.
Jerry Kill called the football practice facility an "eyesore in recruiting," and Tubby Smith has complained that Minnesota still doesn't have a separate practice facility for basketball. Kill believes that an upgrade to the football facility would cost a cool 3 million. Shouldn't be tough for someone with Teague's resume.
Adam Rittenberg believes that Teague's background in basketball makes it more likely that he'll focus on fundraising for Smith's practice facility. It is also possible that Teague, in his first major decision as athletic director, would prioritize football first and meet Kill's needs.
