How about some love for Pam Borton's team?
For the first time EVER, the Gophers women's basketball team won at Ohio State. And it's not a lowly Buckeyes team, it was an Ohio State team that was undefeated in conference play and the only ranked (#13) team in the Big Ten. Katie Ohm led the Gophers with 15 points.
The win puts Borton's Gophers in the thick of what looks like a five team Big Ten conference race. Ohio State, Indiana and Purdue have 5-1 marks and the Gophers join Michigan State at 4-2. Anyone follow Borton's team regularly?
- A relatively new blog, The Fourth Strike, takes a look at what Tubby Smith's 2009-10 Gophers will look like. The only thing I think I disagree with is the potential playing time for Rodney Williams Jr. The Fourth Strike thinks he will be fighting for minutes. I think he'll be the most athletic member of the team and will back-up Lawrence Westbrook. But that's total speculation, I've hardly seen Williams play.
- Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press asks if Tubby Smith is here for the long haul.
- The Northwestern Wildcats looked poised all night to upset Purdue. Then, the Wildcats crumbled. Shocking. Lake the Posts has more.
- Sorry not much more. Spent a lot of time sweating out that Gophers win last night. What an amazing comeback. The review is coming shortly.
