Adam Rittenberg over at the four-letter did an interview with Eric Decker.  It is a lot of stuff about being drafted, he says how his commitment to the football team never waivered, etc. It gets a bit interesting when questions are asked about the new offensive system and Jedd Fisch.  Since we know nothing about what to expect anything we can gather

Rittenberg:  Are there many changes to your specific responsibilities in the new offense versus the spread?

ED: There are definitely different concepts. We're trying to attack the defense in different ways. We're able to move a lot of guys around and try a lot of different things. The big thing, too, is we're trying to get the running game back, which will balance out the passing game and really help us offensively.

He goes on to toe the line about establishing the run game, then the rest is pretty typical (he's buddies with Weber, MarQueis is a great athlete and he wants to play football at the next level).  It's is decent read.

  • The Sporting News believes the Gophers will be the 50th best team in the nation.
  • The Quad's Countdown has settled on Northwestern as the 47th best team in all the land.
  • Marcus Fuller gave us some updates on one of (if not THE) top basketball prospects in the country.  And he pointed out that Harrison Barnes will be writing an online diary at SLAM Magazine.  I can't help but dream about Brewster landing Seantrel and Tubby landing Barnes, how incredible would that be!?!
  • Rivals recruiting analyst, Jamie Newberg answered an e-mail on Brewster.
Since Tim Brewster was hired at Minnesota after the 2006 season, I have believed that the Gophers were on their way up because he will go out and recruit.Slowly, he has built up the player pool. This year, Minnesota is off to a nice start, with two four-star commitments in offensive tackle Jimmy Gjere and athlete Lamonte Edwards. That's a good sign because both are in-state prospects. Running back Donnell Kirkwood is a steal from Florida. So far this year, the staff has done well.

He goes on to say that landing Seantrel Henderson is a very important get for the program and what a difference he would make.
  • The Air Force Academy has been stricken with the Swine Flew, those cadets better not bring that disease to my new stadium!
  • We are one of the Pac-10's five scariest non-conference games this year.
