- Lee Campbell was a late addition to the East-West Shrine game. He was moved to OLB and has faired well. Apparently he is on the radar of Kansas City, so we'll have to see if he earns himself a second day draft slot. More than likely he'll be a free agent invitation to mini-camp.
- Gopher Volleyball will host the 2011 Regionals. They were also hosts this past season and it worked out well for them team as they used the homecourt advantage and turned it into a trip to the Final Four.
- This is kind of interesting. Rivals shows the carousel of coordinators changing teams in this current offseason.
- Hunter Mickelson is a current JR and has been watched by Tubby Smith. The 6'9" power forward from Newport, Ark is currently a 4-star recruit according to Rivals and has offers from Kentucky, Wake, Arkansas, Baylor and Mississippi.
- Charlie Walters tells us that there is a big #77 jersey outside of the Gopher FB offices. Brian Kelly also brought one along for his in-home visit with Henderson.
- Ben Perry is the latest Gopher FB commit. Perry is a 6'5" defensive end out of Southlake Carrol HS in Southlake, TX. He is a 2-star kid with an unimpressive offer list. On the bright side, he is a bright kid and should have no problem getting admitted. He also comes from one of the premier programs in TX (they probably turn out more D1 players than the state of Minnesota each and every year). Southlake Carrol has won 7 Texas State Championships in the past 20 seasons including a Class 5A three-peat in 2004-06. So he has good size, is a bright kid and is from a football factory. He has a weak offer list and is just a 2-star kid so there really is nothing to get excited about.
