If Gophers Lose on Saturday, Tim Brewster's Out as Coach

27

So says this story on AM 1500. The headline is a little misleading, however, as the story states that if the Gophers lose tomorrow, then Brewster is out at the end of the season, not immediately. And the point of this is...? Anyone? If he loses tomorrow and you don't want him back next year, why wouldn't you can him on the spot, and let OC Jeff Horton, who has HC experience, finish out the season as the interim coach? The lame duck status makes no sense, especially when they could save $200k by firing him now instead at the end of the year. If anything, this news is proof there's problems in this athletic department that extend well beyond the head coach. I will never, ever cheer against the Gophers, but if this is true, let's just say I won't be too upset if they lose tomorrow because we'll at least know he's truly gone. Just not gone as soon as he should be.
