What a weekend. We get the worst Blizzard since the Twins won the World Series. Florida hires the guy in line to replace Mac Brown, what?! Miami hires Al Golden, AFTER they reportedly met with Marc Trestman!
Oh and this happened...
- Marcus talked with Coach Kill about recruiting this past week. It is a very good article with Kill telling us that recruiting is recruiting. And that was of course countered by Tom Lemming saying how situations like this usually don't work out unless the new coach brings at least a few experienced recruiters. Now that we have our coordinators in place, it will be VERY interesting to see who Kill hires to fill out his staff.
- The Daily also has a piece on Kill settling in while focusing on recruiting. "The big thing is making sure we take care of … our commitments in the state first, then we’ll go from there,"
- Gopher Volleyball saw their season end in the NCAA Sweet 16 losing to Cal on Friday night 0-3.
- Gopher Volleyball coach, Mike Hebert is retiring.
- After being swept by Mankato last weekend the Gophers beat #2 UMD on Friday and skated to a tie on Sunday.
- Sampson had a pretty good day on Saturday during the blizzard. 6/6 from the floor, 19 points, 8 reb and 4 assists. "There was a blizzard outside, and we were stuck in here for a little bit, so might as well have fun with it," said Sampson."
