Awesome Hire if True....Story after the jump!
The hot rumor Thursday was that the University of Minnesota is now zeroing in on Temple’s Al Golden for its football coaching job. Golden, 41, has a 27-34 won-lost record during five seasons at Temple, but his Owls finished 8-4 this season and are awaiting a bowl berth. Golden is a former captain at Penn State, where he played tight end. He spent 2000 as linebackers coach-recruiting coordinator at Penn State for coach Joe Paterno. At Minnesota, Golden would be expected to nearly triple his Temple salary, which is about $600,000 this year. — Pioneer Press
