Daily Nugs 2.2.2010

While there is preliminary speculation that Seantrel Henderson will commit to Ohio State on Wednesday, other schools are still speculating that they could still be in the race. I'll put my money on the red and gray sweater vest. The headline could read something like "Terrelle Pryor Elated to be Protected by Highly Rated Tackles Andrew Norwell and Seantrel Henderson for the Next Two Years."

Buckeye fans are still nervous about Tressel and some unanswered questions regarding his tenure:

This is, however, a crucial year for Tressel. Not in regards to job security, but in three key areas: Can he develop Pryor? Will the Buckeyes live up to lofty (preseason Top 3) expectations? Can he win a pivotal game against a Top 5 team?

Wide Receiver Bryant Allen is now moonlighting as a point guard for the Gopher basketball team. Although the Gophers lost, Allen appears to be a solid addition to the team:

The 6-foot, 160-pound Maplewood, Mo. native was a pretty accomplished high school player while averaging 25 points, four assists and four steals a game for Richmond Heights as a senior. He shot 51 percent from three-point range and ESPN.com actually ranked him as the No. 37 point guard in the nation. Allen also finished his career with 2,632 points, fourth in St. Louis-area history behind basketball legend Bill Bradley He has the state record for career steals (527).

Royce White is quitting again...this time for good. Perhaps a stint playing in Europe with some of the stereotypical rough-and-gritty Eastern Block players who freely swing their elbows could be his next stop.
