It's the dog days of blogging. Fortunately there is plenty going on in Gopher athletics and Minnesota sports.

First of all, many of you know that SBN Minnesota, our new regional site has launched and you should absolutely check it out. It will have the best of the local SBN blogs and plenty of their own original content.

But now back to Gopher Nuggets...

  • Mbakwe isn't cleared to play for the Gophers this winter, but he is likely to be playing in the Howard Pulley league this summer.
  • Dick Vitale ranks his top 40 for the upcoming college hoops season. The Gophers come in at #33 for Dickie V.
  • Back to realignment. Rittenberg gives it a good discussion, certainly worth the read if you missed this.
  • Doogie will be going position by position as he takes a look at the Gophers upcoming football season. He starts with what he says may be our strongest positions, defensive line.
  • If you want to get involved, PLEASE CHECK OUT Black Shoe Diaries. They are organizing to give back to a PSU football charity. They have a great community over there and are using for good.
  • I am so tired of the Seantrel Henderson saga, and there is a rumor that it will continue for another year. Hurricane Sports Nation is rumoring that he could be heading to a prep school this fall.
  • Hockey Wilderness has a very nice graphic of the top Minnesotan's that are likely to be picked in the upcoming NHL Draft.
