So there actually has not been one Gopher sports event since last Wednesday when the Gopher women's basketball team lost to Denver. It is the holidays and it is finals time for the students, which means this is about as slow a time as there is for Gopher fans. (that might explain why the here at TDG has been pretty light lately). The only events scheduled this week are the men hosting NDSU on Thursday and the women taking on NJIT.
- Ashley Wittman received 2nd team All-American honors for Volleyball and Tori Dixon was honorable mention. Both are sophomores.
- Tom Dienhart recaps the Gopher Football season for BTN.com.\
- Rittenberg at the ESPN B1G Blog gives his end of season report card for the Gophers.
- The American's are getting ready for "crazy fans" in Canada for the 2012 World Junior Championships.
- The Mariucci Classic is still a couple weeks away but the College Hockey Blog is previewing it now.
- Gopher Hockey is having a very good season, largely due to their young stars sticking around a little bit longer.
- I have never seen or heard of this website before but they posted on Gopher basketball.
- Courtside with Corbu, on GopherSports.com sits down with Katie Loberg.
- Former U of MN associate AD, Mark Coyle, was named the new athletic director at Boise State. Don't be surprised to see some future games scheduled in maybe men's hoops or maybe even football with the soon to be Big East school.
- Marcus Fuller takes a look at the Gopher's shift to being a backcourt-oriented team. They didn't make the switch by choice but so far it is working.
