This may be the last Nugz of 2011 (not sure if I'll be able to wwebsite as on the internet in the next couple days), so if I don't get back onto the interwebz then Happy New Year to the TDG community.
- Oops. A budgeting error has the brilliant Joel Maturi going back to Tubby Smith and Pam Borton asking them to fly commercial instead of charter on a few trips this year.
- Brock Lesnar will be fighting this weekend. SB Nation Minnesota has this about his preparation for the fight. And MMA Nation wonders if the loser of this fight will end up retiring from the sport.
- For those of you looking for something to do on New Year's Eve, AMC is having a Walking Deal marathon. I highly suggest you watch this (or TiVo it). The short first season was outstanding. The second season drags on a bit but the finale was awesome. Anyway, watch it.
- Charlie Walters (and others around the web) are reporting that Joel Maturi declined to interview for the NCHC commissioner opening.
- ESPN1500 looks at what 2012 might bring for Gopher hoops.
- A few days hold but Big Ten Powerhouse looks at Rodney Williams' increased role since the Mbakwe injury.
- SB Nation Minnesota looks at the commitment of Hudson Fasching to Gopher Hockey.
- Hugh McCutcheon is the Gopher Volleyball coach who is still finishing up his stint with the USA Men's Olympic team.
- Tyus Jones is still a hot ticket in Minnesota high school basketball. I'm less and less confident that we even have a chance with this 2014 prospect. He is sure to be a four or five start recruit and one of the biggest names to come out of Minnesota in a very long time. Tubby has been recruiting him every step of the way but it might be enough unless he starts to get this program on track to be a more prominent contender.
Stay safe this weekend and enjoy the Gophers game at Michigan on Sunday.
