Golden Nugz 9.20.11- NDSU is not UND

Tuesday Nugz!

Patrick Reusse says MarQueis Gray took some strides towards quieting his critics with his rushing performance last Saturday. Gray's 171 yards broke Sandy Stephens' single game school record.

NDSU Bison coach Craig Bohl knows a win Saturday would be huge for his program. Over half his roster is from Minnesota, and not one of them received a scholarship offer from the U- or any other D1 program. NDSU associate AD Troy Goergen believes as many as 20,000 Bison fans could be at Saturday night's game. That number seem a little high to anyone else, or will there really be only 30,000 Gopher fans at their own home game?

Obviously, NDSU will be focusing on stopping Q. In other big news in Fargo, their team isn't being confused for UND quite so much by Minnesota students. So that's fun for them. I actually quite like NDSU, always had a good time back in the day when I visited buddies who were going to school there, and it helped me learn to hate UND (I hope everyone remembers what "S-S-S" stands for). But just for Saturday I'll have no trouble hating the Bison.

The Strib's Myron Medcalf believes conference realignment would not be good for Big Ten basketball. Andrew Krammer of the MNDaily agrees.
