Memphis Native, Andre Hollins Dominates Memphis with 41 Points

The Gophers bounced back from Thursday's 18-point loss to Duke with a 84-75 win over Memphis thanks largely to a statement game from Andre Hollins. The Memphis native scored a cool 41 points on 12-16 shooting and finished his night with a break-away dunk as an explanation point on his career night.

''This is definitely a great feeling,'' Hollins said with a wide smile. ''It is my hometown team. I won two state championships with a couple of the other guys on Memphis. It was a great feeling to win against guys I used to play with.''

A special night for the sophomore. I hope this propels him to more confidence in leading the team. There are other stars on this team but Drew Dre needs to defer to nobody. Behind Andre was Rodney Williams who contributed 13 points 6 rebounds.

This was really a fun game to watch. Both teams were physical inside with some dynamic backcourt play. We all root for Memphis going forward, they should rack up a lot of wins in Conference USA and should boost our strength of schedule.

Not time to rest or relax after this win as we get Stanford tomorrow to finish out the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. Stanford is the team who routed the Gophers in the NIT final last year, a chance at a bit of revenge, however small it may be.
