Three Gopher Questions
-
Is the Gopher pass defense a mirage or are they for real? - The secondary has been a pleasant surprise with Derrick Wells and Michael Carter both playing better than we anticipated. But this will easily be their biggest test yet this season, will they hold up? Marcus Sales might be the best receiver we see all year, Ryan Nassib might be the best quarterback. This will be a huge challenge.
What are we going to see from Max Shortell in his first start of the season? - A week of preparation as the starter leads to several questions. What kind of changes are going to be made to the offensive gameplan? How will he handle the pressure of leading the offense?
Are we going to get pressure on Ryan Nassib? - Our defensive line has put pretty good pressure on opposing quarterbacks through three games, will they continue to bring the pressure against a solid Syracuse offensive line?
BONUS QUESTION - Will we take advantage of a struggling Syarcuse punt coverage? - Heading into their game against Stoney Brook last week, the Orange were last in the nation in punt coverage and next to last in net punting. You thought we had it bad. AJ Barker isn't a real dangerous punt returner, but will this lead to dominating the field position battle?
