Minnesota Football Recruiting: Eric Carter Officially Signs

How he fits

From his film, one can see that Carter is very experienced at running two of the Gophers' favorite route combinations: post/wheel and slugos (slant and go). It's that familiarly with those type of routes, plus strong hands and ability to get open via crafty running that attracted the Minnesota staff to this Florida pass catcher.

Chances to play in 2013

Fairly high. He understands and is good at the type of routes this staff likes to run. Receivers that get open and do so consistently earn playing time in any collegiate system; considering the Gophers' lack of playmakers overall at the receiver spot, any incremental improvement in practice production will see the field this fall.
