Here is an early forecast:
THE ENEMY
This Season
5-1, with the one loss causing the following reaction in Husker Nation:
If it feels like you haven't heard a lot about Nebraska this year outside of that UCLA loss, you aren't going crazy. Nebraska hasn't really played anyone outside of UCLA (seriously, we're the 2nd best team they'll have faced) and has had 2 byes in the last month, including one last week. Because they really, REALLY, needed more time to prepare for the Gophers... /snark
The #QBGAZE minion has been active in Lincoln as well given Taylor Martinez's (528 yards, 66% comp, 9 TD/1INT) on and off issues "meh" play and injury, but the expectation is that he'll be back this week. The Nebraska offensive line will be without standout guard Spencer Long, but you can still expect to see the TMart look to impose their will by handing the ball off to Ameer Abdullah ( 816 yards, 6 TD's, and 7.2 YPC).
THE #TAKES
1) Who wants to be bowl eligible?
I cannot think of a better troll job than getting to 6 wins faster than Nebraska. Let's make it happen.
2) Beware the Red Horde
Since I'm of the opinion we lose this one, I'm more focused on enjoying the game. As a result, I'm hopeful that Gopher fans will feel like keeping the Big Red invasion to minimum (by Nebraska visitation standards that is).
3) KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Seriously, can we make Lil' Red go away please?
