This trip to Richmond should be a decent early challenge for the Gophers. Outside of the Maui Invitational and the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, this is the Gophers most challenging non-conference opponent and it is on the road. We should continue to learn more about this squad after today.

Richmond is typically a solid mid-major in a good A-10 conference. The Spiders are 2-0 with wins over Belmont and Deleware (both tougher opponents than the Gophers have faced). Getting a Big Ten team down to Richmond is a fairly big deal and I'm sure the student body will be out in full force to cheer on their Spiders.
