The non-conference portion of the schedule is winding down with just a few left before we tip off the Big Ten season in 2014. But first we must take care of business with SDSU.

The exciting thing to watch for tonight is the potential for Austin and Andre Hollins to both hit 1,000 points for their careers. Austin, the senior, needs 17 points to reach the plateau. Andre only needs 14 to read 1K in his junior season. Would be very cool to see both of these guys hit the mark in the same game.
Anders Broman is a Duluth native who holds the Minnesota state high school scoring record. He is a freshman for the Jackrabbits and looks like he might be the next Nate Wolters. Not necessarily the same type of player but a Minnesota native who comes back on an annual basis to terrorize the Gophers with a bunch of points in front of a lot of family and friends.
I don't think that this game should be one we worry about. South Dakota State has been pretty bad defensively this year giving up 55% effective FG% and allowing 1.07 point per possession. They do rebound fairly well, but that won't be nearly enough. KenPom says we are a 94% favorite to win, I haven't done the statistical analysis but I agree.
