The Daily Gopher Mailbag Has Arrived - Calling All Questions!

Here's your chance to ask anything and everything of the staff at TDG.

You guys rock! February was the best month in this site's history. Most unique visits, most pageviews, heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the stories in February collected the most total comments of any month either (that metric isn't auto tracked so we'll just assume yes). And all this in a month that is 3 days shorter than the previous record holder. Heck, our National Signing Day traffic even beat out SB Nation blogs for Michigan and USC! So thanks to all of you for taking time out of your day to read, click, comment, lurk, and browse this little corner of the internet. We greatly appreciate it! (ED NOTE: Yea so...didn't realize GN was going to brag in the Nugz about this. Consider this yet another reminder of you being super duper.)

The new traffic record seemed like a great time to try out a new feature you might have seen discussed in past comment sections. The TDG Mailbag. I always enjoyed reading Matt's mailbag back when he was at FBT and I know he's wanted to bring it here. And I think it's a nice way to continue to build the community that is setting the traffic records I just mentioned. But one writer running a mailbag takes a lot of time and, ya know, Job A/family/bourbon need some of our time too. But then I saw how BC Interruption was planning to run theirs. I not above ripping off a good idea from another fine SB Nation site, so we're going to give this a shot and try to do a Mailbag using the same concepts.

Here are the details:

- Once a week (usually on Friday through Sunday) we'll toss up a Mailbag Open Thread. You, our awesome community, can ask any question of the TDG staff. Just leave the question in the comment section. That's it. Of course to comment, you'll need to be registered to the site. So if you're lurking here's your chance to join the online sensation that is The Daily Gopher. Registering just gives you the chance to sound off...no spamming or email bombardments will follow your registration.

- Ask us questions, lots of questions. Ask us anything. But the more interesting or intriguing the better. Reminding me that I know nothing about anything isn't going to get much of a response other than "Well duh!" Ask us about who we think should play more at TE, or our favorite Gopher basketball game ever, or what should Adidas' punishment be for destroying the good name of quality Zubaz products. Most importantly, don't worry about getting off topic. Random questions are cool too (NOTE: Obligatory reminder that politics, religion, personal attacks, etc are out of bounds...not that you all really cause trouble with that stuff...that's the JBSU fans' job).

- The TDG staff will divvy up the questions, preferably while drinking bourbon. For now we won't have a set breakdown of who takes what, but I wouldn't count on GN answering the hockey questions or me going in depth on our recruiting strategy. In other words, you'll probably see us answer questions that fall within our typical areas of interest/what each of us normally writes about.

- The actual TDG mailbag with our super awesome and 100% accurate answers will run on Thursdays. Now you have something to look forward to on the day before Friday. You're welcome!

That's it. No secret handshake or anything. So give it a shot. Consider this the INAUGURAL MAILBAG OPEN THREAD and start asking questions in the comments!
