Is anyone else excited?  Because I am excited!  So excited that I wrote this quick riff on a Christmas classic. And yes, I know the rhymes need more than a little bit of work...

The Most Wonderful Time Of The (Gopher) Year

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the Gophers returning
And TDG fans saying "MOAR GOLDEN-I"
It's the most wonderful time of the year

It's the hap-happiest season of all
With great meat for the grill and lots of cold beer to swill
In the crisp air of fall

There'll be footballs for throwing
Some fights songs for singing
And chants of WE HATE IOWA!

Tailgate lots full of Gophers
Playing bags, pong, or flip cup
Partying until the game

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There is much optimism
And positive wisdom
When the season is near
It's the most wonderful time of the year
