First of all congratulations to Wally Ellenson for winning a GOLD MEDAL at the PanAm Junior Championships in Columbia. Very exciting for the Gopher sophomore. I really hope he grows as a basketball player but we might be seeing this kid in the Olympics one day as a high jumper.
- Dave Campbell looks at Ra'Shede Hageman and his impact on this football team.
- The depth chart is mostly set for the Gophers but special teams is still up for grabs. This may be a little concerning as it appears nobody has stepped up to grab the often overlooked P and K jobs.
- Football Outsiders gave a Best Case/Worst Case for all of the Big Ten teams. They are not quite as optimistic as the TDG Staff was (shocking!).
- Stewart Mandel's conference preview.
- Looking WAY ahead, SBNation.com has their top 100 Big Board for the 2014 NFL Draft. Ra'Shede Hageman comes in at 36th.
- Big Ten Powerhouse compared B1G Basketball teams to English Premier League teams. Gophers = Tottenham Hotspur (like we didn't already know that). You can learn more about the Spurs and whether they'll retain Gareth Bale at Cartilage Free Captain.
- Richard Pitino will make a lot of lists like this but he is one of the top 5 coaches with the "most to prove" in 2013-14.
- Also in Pitino, Seth Greenberg looks at some of the biggest challenges facing some new coaches (Insider on ESPN).
- I thought this was a very interesting story (Insider on ESPN). It ranks the top 25 X's and O's head coaches in college basketball. No Gopher mentions here, but interesting.
- Condon and Rau have been named your Gopher Hockey captains.
- The Daily Norseman has finished their All-Time Greatest Vikings Tourney. It was an impressive and comprehensive bracket that pitted Bud Grant vs. Alan Page in the final. Page won as a #2 seed.
